Boxer Amir Khan & his parents are still not in good terms, mother left in ‘floods of tears’

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan and his parents are not on talking terms and the family feud has only exacerbated after his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, refused to let in his mother to celebrate the announcement of their third child.

Amir Khan’s mother apparently left in a “floods of tears” after she was left ringing the doorbell when she went to their residence following news that the couple were expecting another baby, several newspapers here reported.

Overjoyed, Khan’s mother, Falak, went to see him after the boxer and his wife announced that they were expecting yet another child on social media in an elaborate reveal. However, she was unable to see him.

The former light-welterweight world champion boxer and his wife have been embroiled in a bitter public spat with his dad, Shah, and mother Falak since 2016 after Makhdoom accused them of bullying her.

Last week, Khan, 32, had claimed the feud was in the past, saying: “I speak to them all the time – everything is cool between them. I’m in a sport where one punch can change your life, and I thought, ‘be nice to everyone’.”

However, the British media has said their relation was at an all-time low, as a family source said: “Amir is banned from talking to his parents by Faryal and her mother, who also ensure that he doesn’t mix with them.

“The fight took an ugly turn when Amir and Faryal announced that they were expecting their third child. Amir’s parents were joyous at the news but only found out via the media.

“In Islamic tradition, the children are supposed to share good news with their parents first, and Amir’s parents were disappointed they chose to announce it publicly. Falak was overjoyed and rang Amir, who was at home. He confirmed the news, and despite the bad blood she darted around to see him. But she was unable to see him.

The family source further claimed: “After an hour, she returned home in tears, crying and sobbing since. Every aspect of his life is controlled by his wife and mother-in-law, who have banned him from talking to his own parents.”

The couple, who were married in a lavish ceremony six years ago, are parents to five-year-old Lamisah and one-year-old Alayna.
