The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to visit Pakistan next week

British Royal couple, Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton, who recently visited Aga Khan Centre in London, is all set for their royal tour of Pakistan. According to Kensington Palace, the Duke and Duchess will arrive in Islamabad on Monday, October 14 and tour the country for a series of engagements covering national security matters, women’s empowerment, and issues youth in the country face today. The tour will wrap up on October 18, 2019.

The Kensington Palace also issued a statement announcing that the Cambridges’ visit will be “the most complex tour undertaken by The Duke and Duchess to date, given the logistical and security considerations.”

“The Duke and Duchess have asked that this tour allow them opportunities to meet as many Pakistanis as possible,” spokesman Christian Jones shared in a statement. “Over the course of the visit, Their Royal Highnesses will meet a wide variety of people, including children and young people; leaders from government, business, and the charity sector; inspiring conservationists; and well-known cultural figures and sporting stars.”

During the visit the royal couple will travel from the capital of Islamabad to the city of Lahore, then head to the mountainous northern countryside and the rugged border regions to the west, and take in Pakistan’s rich culture, its diverse communities, and beautiful landscapes.

This will be the first royal visit to Pakistan in 13 years. The last one was by Charles, the Prince of Wales, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who visited Pakistan in 2006.
