Facebook is always trying to come up with new features and technology.  This times its working on a brain-reading computer.

Yes, you read it right Facebook is closer to make a reality computer after debuting the idea at its 2017 developer conference.

It has made progress on developing a noninvasive wearable device that allows people to type using their thoughts. Facebook Reality Labs, a division that studies long-term tech products and hardware, has been working with researchers from the University of California, San Francisco on the technology.

According to a study published in a journal showed, how researchers were able to use the brain-computer interface to decode speech directly from the human brain onto a screen.

Several reports highlights, researchers worked with three patients undergoing treatment for epilepsy who had electrodes implanted into their brains. Researchers will spend the year testing the technology.

Facebook vice president of AR/VR, said in a tweet:
“Today we’re sharing an update on our work to build a non-invasive wearable device that lets people type just by imagining what they want to say,” Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, Facebook vice president of AR/VR, said in a tweet. “Our progress shows real potential in how future inputs and interactions with AR glasses could one day look.”
This technology will not be availble to consumers anytime soon, not only Facebook is working on such tech, many other companies like Tesla is also working on brain-reading tech.
