Renowned film, TV and stage actor Ali Ejaz passes away

Another black day for the Pakistani entertainment industry as one of the most renowned veteran film, stage and television actor Ali Ejaz passed away in Lahore today after a fatal cardiac arrest at the age of 77.

Ali Ejaz gained immense popularity from his drama ‘Khawaja and Sons and ‘Khoji’. He stepped into the field of acting in 1967 and his first film was ‘Insaniyat’ after which he got acknowledgment of his acting skills through many Urdu and Punjabi films like Dilbur Jani, Yamla Jutt, Ji Oh Jatta, Dubai Chalo, Ishq Pecha and Dostana.

He acted in 106 movies, 84 of which were Punjabi, 22 Urdu, and 1 Pashtu.  He acted in Nisaniyat, Dubai Chalo, Dada Ustad, Pyar Da Palla, Bhaiyyan Di Jori, Yamla Jutt, Bad Nalo Badna,,. Bura Ashiq, Mera Naa Sadhu, Shetani Laila Majnu Zulm Kai nai, Phalda Sadha Rasta, Badal Sohratay, Jawai Mister, Aflatoon Naukartay, Malik Wohdi Daa, Sawal Aey Baoji, Ji Dushman Pyara, Andheri Nagri, Dhi rani Chor Machaey Shor, Ishq mera Naa Bharosa, Sala Sahab, Athra Puttar Aap sey Kiya Parda, and Ishq Samandar

Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of renowned film, television and stage actor Ali Ejaz. In his condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and fortitude for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

The Information Minister said with Ali Ejaz’s death Pakistan has been deprived of a versatile artist and he will always be remembered due to his remarkable services in the film and TV arena.

He said Ali Ejaz was a very talented artist who performed humorous and serious characters with command.

Ali Ejaz was suffering from prolonged illness however he died subsequent to heart attack. His funeral prayer will be offered tomorrow in Lahore.
