cold pursuit – A violent drama about a snowplough driver hunting his son’s murderer

“Cold Pursuit” works at a lot of levels – on the ground, on mountain passes, in the air (the hang glider, really?!). It’s also a dark, sophisticated send-up of the revenge genre. With a title presumably inspired by the trope that “revenge is a dish best served cold,”

the glass – KIND of an own-brand superhero franchise

With a bumper helping of pointlessness, M Night Shyamalan has created a bulky, lengthy, anti-climactic sequel by joining two of his previous films: Split (2016) and Unbreakable (2000).  Glass starts strongly and fizzles, a dramatic droop which is initially camouflaged by the escalating grandiosity of visual rhetoric, something febrile and high-concept that is visionary in everything except having vision

avengers – The end game

The climactic installment of the blockbuster series. It has only taken 11 years and 22 feature-length films, but the end of Marvel’s Avengers series is in sight. Skeptics might feel assailed by the 181-minute running time; a three-hour movie is the ultimate act of fan service. A pleasant surprise, then, those three hours zips by at light speed. The final battle is giddily cathartic, but the catharsis arises from prioritizing character development over plot and spectacle. This will definitely be the Avengers legacy.

THE SILENCE – IS A FAIRLY BLAND THRILLER THAT STRUGGLES TO LEAVE MUCH OF AN IMPACT – DESPITE SOME FLEETING MOMENTS OF PURE TENSION AND TERROR.

Even if the comparison isn’t entirely fair, scene after scene in ‘The Silence’ makes you realize just how much more well-thought-through A quiet place was in developing its premise. Instead of keeping the focus on the relationships among its threatened family and tightening the screws. The movie also has an extremely on-the-nose way of introducing its central characters.
