Wedding rom-com Chhalawa’s trailer left us craving for more

Wajahat Rauf’s curiously titled rom-com is about to hit the cinemas this year on Eid-ul-Fitr .The film Chhalawa is directed, written and produced by Wajahat Rauf, who is a Pakistani director, actor, screenwriter and producer. He has directed two films Karachi Se Lahore & Lahore Se Aagey which were hits at box office. However, details of the upcoming movie Chhalawa are still tightly under wraps, and the plot still remains a surprise. The official trailer was launched on Sunday 21st March. The brief bright and colourful teaser shows the film revolving around wedding festivities that will take place in the movie.

The cast of Chhalawa are Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Aashir Wajahat, Mahmood Aslam and Adnan Shah Tipu. The film’s teaser was dropped on Thursday 28th March giving major Desi wedding vibes with its dance performances. The notable Mehwish Hayat – acclaimed Pakistani actress, model and singer is starring as the lead character Zoya. Mehwish Hayat is an actress whose appearance on the big screen has always been larger than life

In the film she has a semi bridal-semi casual look alongside Azfar Rehman who seem to be playing the roles of star-crossed lovers. It is also the first time that the dashing pair of Zara Noor Abbass and her real life husband Asad Siddiqui will be seen on screen acting opposite each other. The cast also gets to show off their dance moves to this track which will have you up and on your feet in no time. Additionally, the clip also shows us a glimpse of what seems like an item number by Mehwish Hayat. Chhalawa’ gives the impression of being a lighthearted family entertainer with comedy, romance and emotions all rolled into one.
