Self-esteem is a really long word but with basic meaning. It just means how you feel about yourself. You might feel a lot of things for people you meet every day but have you wondered what you really feel about yourself?
Are you someone who thinks that you don’t deserve anything and you cant achieve anything? What are the reasons behind it? Have other people led you up to think like this about yourself or is it just your mind doing things to yourself?
What other people say about you and what you achieve is no way to measure what you are worth. If this simple sentence still doesn’t help you to build that self-esteem then here are some ways that you can keep in mind every day:
-
Say daily positive affirmations to remind yourself only about your strengths and what you are good at. Just be positive. Don’t torture yourself about those weaknesses daily.
-
Friends are really important. The kind of company you have makes a lot of difference in your life. surround yourself with friends who treat you the way you want to be treated.
-
Avoid comparing yourself to others.
-
Set your boundaries (what you are ok with and what you are not ok with) Learn when to say no and resist negative peer pressure.
-
Talk about your feelings to someone who you blindly trust.
-
Don’t fret about the mistakes you have made. Learn from them and grow! Mistakes are just opportunities for you to do better.
-
Every time you feel stuck, just ask for support. Trust me, no one can do everything alone.
-
Help others. Be kind. Pass a smile. When you help others and you are nice to them, it automatically makes you feel good about yourself.
-
When things don’t go your way, don’t cry or get angry. Not everything happens according to our expectations. Try a different way. Maybe this wasn’t meant for you.
-
Read. Laugh. Create. Live. Life is too short to think that you can’t do anything and you don’t deserve anything because you do.
Baby steps are okay for every day to help you feel great about yourself. You just need to believe in yourself and do it. Good luck!
