3 awesome French fry creations we have complete faith in

We’re suckers for anything and everything that comes with fries. From desi flavoured ones to the very angraiz varieties of loaded fries, these are welcome at any hour of the day.

We feel fries should no longer be considered sidelines; they deserve major recognition in their own right. And so we’ve got some suggestions that might help spice up your French fry life.

Here’s it all:

1. Pile up flavour and nutrition with some veggies

If you’re a new mum you probably try real hard to push your kids towards eating veggies other than potatoes.

This recipe gives a fun spin to traditional french fries by adding in some juicy carrots.

Get:

2 cups OPA fries (we recommend the Original variant)

2 medium sized carrots

2 tbsp olive oil (optional)

2 tsp paprika powder

Salt (to taste)

What to do:

Wash, clean and peel the carrots and cut into fries.

Air fry the OPA and carrot fries together in two batches. Use olive oil while air-frying if you want to give your fries some extra crunch.

Once done, plate them out and sprinkle paprika powder and salt.

If you don’t own an air fryer, deep fry OPA fries and bake or stir-fry the carrot fries. Mix together when done.

You can also add other interesting and tasty veggies like sweet potatoes to this recipe.

2. Go all out with cheese

Loaded fries are the reason we failed to accomplish our weight loss goals in 2019.

Though there are no set rules to how you should make them, here’s how we like ours:

Get:

2 cups OPA fries (we recommend Crinkle cut)

1/4 cup of pizza sauce

1/4 cup mozzarella cheese

Pepperoni slices (as many as you like)

2 tsp paprika powder

Salt (to taste)

What to do:

Prep frozen fries by following the instructions mentioned on the OPA fries bag.

Once done, line at the bottom of a casserole dish and top with pizza sauce, cheese, paprika powder, salt and pepperoni slices, preferably in that order.

Microwave or toss in the oven for 5-6 minutes or until the cheese on top gets a gold-brown tint.

You can also add some bell peppers, olives or mushrooms to the recipe.

3. Make something new out of leftover food

Often end up cooking a whole bag of pasta accidentally because carbs do that to you? That’s very us!

Here’s how you can use all of that to make something fresh and interesting, without wasting a whole lotta food you already have lying around.

Get:

2 cups OPA fries (we recommend Chunky or Super Chunky cuts)

Left over pasta (we’re using mac’n’cheese)

1 cup boiled, shredded chicken (optional)

What to do:

Prep frozen fries and drain all oil real well. Once dry, arrange in a casserole dish and layer pasta right on top.

If you want to add a touch of meat to the flavour, add shredded chicken as the third layer.

Bake for 5-6 minutes and you’re done.

You can also work the same recipe using leftover chicken or beef curries
