Senior journalists and analysts speak on India’s LoC violation and Pakistan Air Force’s timely response.
Hamid Mir – Senior journalist said that, “A solid message will be given from Pakistan which will be seen by the entire world…Pakistan is capable of giving any type of response. We need to wait. The situation in India is of total confusion.”
“The confusion was created after the press briefing of India’s Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale who did not take any questions. If India did have a successful airstrike against Jaish-e-Muhammad, then their Defence and Foreign Ministers should have taken credit for it. They should have shared proof with the media.”
“Pakistan can respond to India both political and non-politically”
Saleem Safi- Senior journalist said that “There should be an All Parties Conference called immediately. The government should invite Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Asfandyar Wali Khan and all other top leaders so a message of national unity can be sent.”
“The matter of India is one on which the entire nation is united.”
Suhail Warraich – Senior journalist said that “We need to be united and give a joint response…A joint session of Parliament should be called immediately and should continue until a decision is taken on a measured response…When there is an external war, the internal war should be stopped.”
“How we united against terrorism, the leadership needs to unite on this and give a joint response. A response should be given that internal differences aside we are united on this.”
Shahid Amin – Former foreign secretary said, “This is a big provocation, but we need to give a measured response so this does not happen in the future.”
“We need to immediately approach the United Nations Security Council and raise this issue on the international level. There was a violation of international law. This is what the Security Council was formed for. Highlighting this issue would mean condemnation for India and pressure.”
