Karachi under second spell of heat wave

The second spell of heat wave this month has begun in Karachi, with temperature rising to as high as 40°C to 42°C.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), extremely hot weather is likely to grip the port city from May 25 to May 27 during which sea breeze will remain halted during the day time and will resume in the evening.

New heatwave alert has been issued for Karachi. Health experts have advised people to remain indoors from 11 am to 3 pm to remain safe from the effects of hot weather.

“People must cover their heads with wet clothes while those who are fasting must increase the intake of water during the time of Iftar and Sehr,” they recommend.

It is indeed another test for Karachites as it’s the Holy month of Ramadan as well, and fasting in this severe heat is a challenge for all. We advise everyone to stay indoors and keep hydrated.
