Zombieland: Double Tap trailer brings the gang back together!

Who would have thought that almost exactly ten years since Zombieland’s release, we’d be gearing up not only for a direct sequel, but one in which all four lead cast members have now been nominated for Oscars (with one even winning an Oscar, too). Welcome to 2019, where Zombieland: Double Tap has assembled one of the most prestigious all-star casts of the year and asked them to do things such as “sit on Santa’s lap” and “carve up a human body ‘neath an industrial combine harvester.”

Sony has released the first trailer for “Zombieland: Double-Tap”, the much-anticipated sequel of the horror-comedy Zombieland which was released almost a decade ago.

Most interestingly, the original star cast of Zombieland will be reprising their roles in the sequel along with the new additions.

The sequel brings back the four classic characters from the original film: Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer and produced by Gavin Polone, the film features Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Bill Murray, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin in the lead roles.

The exact storyline of the film is yet to be revealed. The first trailer is focused on introducing the characters, and their funny interactions. It does not show a lot of zombie-killing action.

According to film’s synopsis: “In the sequel which is written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family”.

The film is scheduled to be released on October 18, 2019.
