Hunting Scorpio in Afghanistan has been illegal but in the past few months, it has become a profitable business for local traders. Afghanistan has legalized the trade for Scorpio venom for the use of pharmaceutical companies.

A businessman recently invested in Scorpio farms, its total valuation is USD $500,000. It is a first for Afghanistan to ever produce Scorpio venom.

One gallon of Scorpio venom is estimated to be $39 million, it is reported that Scorpio venom is one of the most expensive liquid in the world.

Herat’s Chambers of Commerce CEO, Khalil Yarmand said: “So far 500 grams is produced, which will be exported to the USA”.  The venom will be used to create different medical antibiotics which will also help to cure cancer. Chlorotoxin found in the venom can identify certain types and sizes of tumors.  He also added, “we want more people to invest in this business; it will help Afghanistan to grow its economy”.

One Scorpio can produce up to 2 mg of venom at a time.

Our bodies have become so immune to the conventional antibiotics that it’s time for us to take new measures to sustain medical growth.
