Govt. to make drug test mandatory for students & teachers!

The government has taken the decision to make drug tests mandatory for the students and teachers in Islamabad. Shehryar Afridi Minister of state for Narcotics control told the senate panel about this decision on Thursday.

While talking to the senate panel the Minister said that not a single person would be spared if declared responsible for circulating drugs to the youth even if he/she is a member of parliament.

Continuing with the session he also claimed that the government is working on making a law to punish the distribution of crystal methamphetamine also known as ice or crystal meth.

Amjad Javed Saleemi Secretary Narcotics’ control told the senate that the record of those criminals involved in narcotics trade has been maintained and the system is useful in tacking the drug peddlers and their facilitators.

The data of the drug dealers and money launderers have been collected from more than 250 million international law enforcement agencies as informed by the ministry.

He claims that during the collection of the data the former president of Interpol Ronald Robin and the UAE authorities were looking forward to seeking help from Pakistan regarding this matter.

The PTI Minister mourned at the attention paid towards Rana Sanaullah’s arrest when the authorities captured 2,000 suspects for the narcotics trade. According to the minister’s statement, the anti-narcotics team followed Rana for 3 weeks before capturing him.
