Sindh to introduce number plates with Ajrak logos!

The Sindh Excise Department has decided to introduce new number plates with Ajrak logos for vehicles and motorcycles by the year 2020.

According to reports in media, Secretary Excise Abdul Haleem Shaikh has ordered the manufacturing of number plates with chips and Ajrak logos for around 300,000 vehicles and motorbikes.

In his comments to media, Shaikh stated that the modern number plates could be scanned to give all the information about the owner and theft of vehicles would be made difficult.

The idea is yet to be approved by the Sindh chief minister and his cabinet.

The Excise Department had earlier confirmed that around 8000 government vehicles were without number plates, and most of these belonged to senior officers who preferred fancy number plates.
