Prince William, Kate arrive in Lahore for day-long visit

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend a busy day in Pakistan’s cultural capital, Lahore on Thursday, attending multiple events in the city.

Upon their arrival in Lahore, Prince William and Kate Middleton met with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, before proceeding to a charity function. The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge will pay a visit to the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairperson Ehsan Mani and Chief Executive Wasim Khan will receive Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton on the occasion. The royal couple will also play cricket during their 40-minute stay at the cricket academy.

For her visit to Lahore, Kate donned a white Gul Ahmed shalwar kameez and a shawl by Maheem Khan.

She accessorised her ensemble with a clutch from Mulberry, shoes by Gianvito Rossi and earrings by Asprey.

The itinerary for their fourth day in Pakistan includes visits to the SOS Children’s Village, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, the National Cricket Academy and the Badshahi Mosque.

The duchess is also expected to deliver her first address in Pakistan today. William’s late mother, Diana, who was a friend of Prime Minister Imran Khan, visited Pakistan twice — 1996 and 1997 — to help raise awareness and funds for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
