Abrar-ul-Haq’s Chamkeeli comes under fire for apparently insulting men and women

Abrar-ul-Haq’s track that just came out this month which featured Mehwish Hayat as a super cool bride lands in trouble.

A petitioner, Adv Rana Adnan Asghar, has filed a claim against the song ‘Chamkeeli’ in civil court, Lahore. According to the claim, the song is an insult to both men and women. The courts have been requested to ban the track, removing it from YouTube.

“Men were humiliated by Abrar ul Haq on December 7… Not only men but women were also humiliated in the song,” stated Adv Rana Adnan Asghar.

Civil Judge Ziaur Rahman has adjourned the hearing till December 21, seeking response from Abrar-ul-Haq, PEMRA and others.

The singer’s other tunes such as ‘Nach Punjaban Nach’ also came under similar criticism. Previously, his rendition of ‘Billo De Ghar’ for Coke Studio was also taken down due to alleged copyright issues.
