Osman Khalid Butt will be tackling toxic masculinity on stage with Phadda

Actor Osman Khalid Butt is closing the decade by returning to his theatre roots, with more performances in the upcoming year for his play Phadda, which he adapted for the stage and stars in alongside Usman Mukhtar.

“This was one of the most challenging, complex plays I’ve done – and in a time where masculinity is being redefined, one of the most important,” he wrote on Instagram. “We’re thinking of doing an encore in Islamabad next month and touring Lahore and Karachi, so fingers crossed!”

Osman confirmed to Images that the play will likely be touring in January or February “because of the amazing audience reaction” at its first run in Islamabad.

Phadda is based on Square Go by Kieran Hurley and Gary McNair, is about Max, who is called for his first fight by the school gates and must face down his own demons in the process.
