Short film Ghosts of the Past shows a friendship during Partition

After Beila, SOC productions has released their second short from their HOME1947 series.

Titled Ghosts from the Past, the short follows Anver Jehan talking about her best friend Rubina Columbowalla, whom she had to leave behind during Partition.

Jehan reads a letter sent by Rubina from August 1, 1948 and reminisces about the time the two shared before 1947. She mentions she was 17 at the time she left. Anver Jehan passed away in December last year, but her story remains as pure as ever.

Series HOME1947 aims to follow more such stories of the millions that were displaced during the Partition. It is set to have short films, each story told through the eyes of those who lived through the events that will unfold.

The first short from the series was helmed by Laal Kabootar director,Kamal Khan, The series has five more films to go.
