‘Game of Thrones’ actor Andrew Dunbar passes away

Actor Andrew Dunbar, the body double for Theon Greyjoy on HBO’s Game of Thrones and a frequent extra on the series, died at home in Belfast, Ireland on Christmas Eve. His death was confirmed by friends and coworkers, but no cause was given reported Deadline.

Dunbar was in his 30’s and also worked as a DJ. His acting career included appearances on the TV shows Line Of Duty and Derry Girls. He also worked as a Game of Thrones tour guide.

Pamela Smyth, the head of crowd makeup at Game of Thrones, was quoted in reports saying, “Dunbar was always professional and mannerly, with a big broad beaming smile. A beautiful soul – he will be missed by all the GOT family.”

Costar on the show and a close friend of Dunbar, Andy McClay, had also told said, “Something about him that was special,” he quoted when finding out the news of the actor’s death. “People always felt good around him, happy, excited for the day’s work and there was always a lot of fun when he was around.”

Dunbar had essayed the role of Alfie Allen’s body double for the character Theon Greyjoy in the series. He also appeared in Game of Thrones as a Stark bannerman and a Northern Ally in the Battle of the Bastards.
