Foodpanda serves as a Hero to many during COVID-19!

This year by far has been the most challenging, starting with Coronavirus which has not only affected people physically but financially as well all over the world. Employees are either facing salary cuts or been laid off completely. Similarly, Pakistan has also been affected by the economic and financial crisis. In these unknown and desperate times, Foodpanda stepped forward to support Pakistanis to keep the economy afloat.

Foodpanda has been providing job opportunities for Pakistanis who are not highly educated but still able to earn money and provide for their families. Once again during these turbulent times, Foodpanda has used its platform to provide employment opportunities to more than 600 people nationwide. They have reached out to 1000+ small scale restaurant owners having 5 people in the kitchen on average. This has helped around 10,000 restaurants to generate up to 40% additional revenue.

While several companies were laying off their employee’s food panda hired more riders and started their grocery delivery service. Pakistanis were provided with the ease of staying safe indoors while Foodpanda riders drive through the town to deliver grocery and essential daily items.

To give their complete supports to vendors Foodpanda lowered onboarding fees, startup costs and commissions. Moreover, they also provided marketing support and discounts to encourage higher revenue growth to vendors in these difficult times. There were times where vendors were also provided with loans in collaboration with Finca, discounted shop insurance and COVID19 health insurance.

Foodpanda tried their best to provide vendors with the best possible offers so they never face any financial issues. In these times only they provided with a platform for women at home who can use their cooking skills to earn money while staying at home. They have served as a bridge for customers and home-based chefs satisfying both parties.

Foodpanda has surely been amongst one of the few companies to have provided ongoing monetary assistance to compensate for the lost daily earnings and provided financial assistance to its heroes in cities where operations were halted.
