FLASH FLOODS IN PAKISTAN

The current situation of Pakistan is getting worse by day because of the destruction caused by flash floods. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) more than half of the casualties have occurred in Sindh and Balochistan. A National emergency has been declared all around the country.

Houses, shops, hotels and even villages as a whole have been washed away from the high current of flood water. Severe damage has been caused to different projects. The under construction Mohmand Dam has also been caused damaged due to the floods. More than a thousand people have lost their lives and millions of people are left homeless.

Who is to blame in this time of devastation? In times like these, a nation is supposed to come together to lend a helping hand to the ones suffering but we as a nation have failed. Where shelter tents were being sold for around Rs 1500/- in the past, they have now been labelled for around Rs 15,000/- as the demand has increased. The government and state institutions need to buckle up and level up their missions for rescuing the flood victims.

This is not the first time that Pakistan has fallen under such troublesome circumstances following the floods, it has happened in the past too. The government needs to take measures beforehand to save the people and to protect the country from the destruction so that we can the precious lives and our villages from just washing away in the floods.
