Iron is one of the major components of hemoglobin, that is in red blood cells used to carry oxygen from your lungs to all the parts of your body. Without enough iron in you’re the red blood cells would be low resulting in lesser supply of oxygen that would lead to fatigue. Iron plays an important role in brain development and growth.

Iron can either be consumed in the form of food or supplements. Relating to food, it can either be heme iron that is obtained from poultry, meat or seafood or non heme iron that includes food grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
