Meghan Markle and Prince Harry being asked to ‘vacate’ their U.K. home

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, have been asked to vacate their home in Britain, suggesting a further fraying of ties with the royal family amid preparations for the coronation of his father, King Charles III. Harry and Meghan first moved into Frogmore Cottage in the spring of 2019 ahead of the birth of their first child Archie Harrison, then stepping back as working members of the royal family and relocating to California in 2020.

“We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” a spokesperson for the couple said in statement.

This statement comes after The Sun reported King Charles III wants to move his brother Prince Andrew to the Windsor residence. For the uninitiated, the late Queen Elizabeth’s second son Prince Andrew had stepped down from his public duties after his name was associated with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. At present, he stays at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ties with the royal family have not been the best in the last few years.

The couple will now reside full-time at their home in Montecito, California.
