Exclusive Interview With Mir Lakhmir Baloch Zamurani

Mir Lakhmir Baloch Zamurani

CEO & Founder of

Mir Sons & Co

Being the youngest self-made millionaire in Pakistan tell us about your journey?

The business that I inherited from my father is completely different from crypto currency, which I started on my own. Therefore, I would like to discuss more about crypto here. My journey in crypto started way back when I was in the UK doing my LLB. During my second year, I started trading in crypto with some of my friends, as I was already dealing in stocks. I operated through an app named eToro, although I also suffered losses. I believe loss is the best thing that can happen to you because such setbacks are what make you learn more, expand your knowledge, and improve your skills in order to recover losses and gain profits.

Tell us about Crypto and how does it actually work?

Basically, crypto currency is perceived very differently in Pakistan, although in reality it is a simple technology, an online currency that works on blockchain technology. It is just like real-life goods trading through bank notes; similarly, since its launch in 2010, people have been buying goods and services online through crypto, as it is a digital currency. It is commonly assumed to be a mode of digital payment to gain profits, which is actually not the case; it has much more to it if you have complete exposure to crypto currency and how it works.

When was Mir Sons & Co established and who was its founder?

Mir Sons & Co. was founded by my grandfather, Haji Noor Muhammad, and after my father passed away my brother and I established the company and expanded its operations. I’m only 23 years old and have a long way to go. We are still working hard to expand our business. We’ve also expanded into the international market, as my younger brother lives in the United Kingdom and we work there as well.

What does your company do & what are the other industries that you have ventures in?

Mir Sons & Co. consists of several divisions, including hoteling, construction, and real estate. By real estate, I mean that we own the properties that we rent out. Aside from that, we build plots and rent them out; we do not sell our property. Apart from that, we have entered the agriculture sector, which plays a major role in Pakistan. Having said that, we are also licenced arms dealers.

How sharp does one have to be to deal with crypto?

It is not about being sharp; it is about maximising your skills, proper research, and luck. If we prioritise them, research comes first, then skills, and finally luck.

You are very young and still have a long way to go, what are your future plans?

I really do have a long way to go. After my father passed away, I was left with a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. I will be eternally grateful to him because he made everything easier because of the things we inherited from him and worked to expand the business he established. My ambition is to become the type of person who is remembered for his accomplishments and respected long after he has left the world.

What is your message for the youth?

Always listen to your parents; whatever they tell us eventually turns out to be correct because they are the only people who are always there for you in all stages of life. Never disrespect your parents or believe you are better than them because they will always be greater and better than you.
