A Friends Reunion Special Is ‘In The Works’

Fans of the iconic sit-com Friends have been begging for new material ever since the show finished in May 2004.

Well, it looks like we might finally get what we’ve been asking for…kind of. Friends reunion is in the works at HBO Max and could feature your favourite on-screen cast.

The site claims Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, are all being sought after to appear in the unscripted reunion.

As per other reunions, they could reminisce on the old days, provide some commentary on what happened behind the scenes and offer up information never heard before about themselves.

There are several reasons [why there won’t be a Friends reunion

“One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It’s not that time anymore. All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone.

“Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is doing just fine, people love it. [A reunion] could only disappoint. ‘The One Where Everyone’s Disappointed’.”

Surely even the most die-hard fans of the show must admit it’s hard to argue with Kauffman’s point.
