Samiya Ansari at Sabs the Salon was snapped up by Fashion Pakistan Council as the official makeup partner for Fashion Pakistan Week Spring/Summer 2019 commencing from the 11th to 15th of March 2019 in Karachi. Having seen Nabila N-Pro create memorable looks on the runway for the last few seasons, one of the many changes this year include the addition of Cake The Film stylist, Samiya as the official makeup partner. The new team will be designing special make up looks for the three days of Fashion Pakistan Week.
Inspired by the impending spring summer season, the makeup looks will focus on light and bright colors. Samiya aims to create something that is fresh and out of the box for the fashion industry, by taking inspiration from international campaigns. Great emphasis will be on colored, statement eyeliner such as electric blue, yellow and metallics, as well hair and nail looks that have never been achieved at this scale before. The vision for this season is to recreate age-old makeup looks to something that is fresh and more relatable. Samiya Ansari aims to impart knowledge about new fashion and trends this S/S ‘19.
“We want our girls and the mass population to know that we can be diverse and move on from the trusted smoky eye to do something that is fresh. My team and I are trying to move on to the trends that are seen internationally, instead of something very cliché. It is surreal and I’m also very nervous but I’ve seen my mom do this my entire life so it’s safe for me to say I have some experience in this area. Knowing that I am going to be running the show and the looks gives me shivers, but the good kind,” said Samiya.

Samiya is a makeup artist and stylist who founded the multi-faceted style blog, Swear Upon Coco, which encompasses her love for all things fashion, travel, music, food and photography.
