Are Pakistani dramas romanticising toxic masculinity?

No doubt the younger generation is so scared of marriage, if not totally I would definitely partially blame it on the media. The way toxic men are normalised and portrayed manly is simply encouraging a male dominated society even more.

We belong to a society which is already male dominated and women are doing their best to fight for their rights and equality. Our Pakistani drama industry is not helping what so ever. With dramas like Khaani, Mera Sayi, Ruposh and now Aye Musht-e-Khaak our drama industry is simply glorifying toxic masculinity and abusive behaviour.

Having said that i would like to end by saying not all men are same and not all dramas convey the wrong message but as the media it’s our responsibility to try and spread positivity and inspire people to become better humans and create a loving society as a whole.
