Awards conferred on army men for services to Pakistan

Military awards were conferred on the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army on Friday for having served the nation with valor and courage.

According to a press release issued by military’s media wing, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on army men on the occasion of Corps investiture ceremony of Rawalpindi Corps.

According to the communique, Tamgha-i-Basalat was awarded to two officers and 24 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers including 21 Shuhada while next-of-kins of the martyred soldiers received their awards posthumously.

Moreover, 63 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 85 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering admirable services for the country.

The event was graced by Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, who was the chief guest for the evening which also saw the presence of a large number of senior Army officers as well as the families of those getting bestowed with the prestigious awards at the ceremony.
