Bilal Lashari’s highly anticipated remake of 1979 Maula Jatt, The Legend of Maula Jatt has been making rounds in the news for quite some time now. Earlier it was on the back of the movie’s star cast Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Mahira Khan and now due to constant legal battle it’s up to fight.
The producer of the original Maula Jatt Muhammad Sarwar Bhatti has filed a petition against the movie in Lahore High Court that alleges Bilal and team of illegally using the Maula Jatt script, characters and music – a violation of the 1979 film’s copyrights.

Furthermore, Bhatti has also requested to the court to suspend the Censor Board’s certificates granted to Bilal Lashari for his upcoming release. The Court has scheduled a hearing for the case on April 25.
Earlier in March, the Lahore High Court had also issued a stay order on the unauthorized use of the title, characters, dialogues and exhibition of work identical to the original Maula Jatt.
It seems like there’s a while till the destiny of the much hyped film is clear to the fans that are eagerly waiting to see Bilal’s take on the 70s classic.
