A Blue Jacket Movement (BJM) was launched by the CM Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah a few days back. The movement aims at cleaning Karachi practically. A large number of volunteers, actors and civil society members have also stepped forward in support of this initiative.
The movement will be worked out in phases. It will begin from the South district and then will extend to other districts under the slogan “say no to open littering.” The citizens must also be a part of this movement. It is also a way to spread awareness among people to keep the City clean.
At this time, it is really important for everyone to stand united and work collectively to clean their own vicinities, compounds, and homes. Also, children must be taught to throw the garbage in dustbins instead of throwing away on the streets. Moreover, the trash must be thrown in paper bags instead of polythene bags.
The CM also asked the people to keep a check on the DMCs and SSWMB staff which is responsible for cleaning Karachi. And in case of any negligence, people are advised to register a complaint against them at their offices.
It is a special initiative that is not only going to clean the districts but will also beautify them. Its scope will soon extend to other districts turning Karachi into an ideal city.
