Celebrating the efforts of the organisation of Karachi with KHI Awards 2 

K-Electric celebrated their second edition of their incredibly successful and heartwarming KHI Awards 2, to encourage all the organizations supporting the city of Karachi through their dedication and hard work. The overall development of Karachi has been the central and most-dedicated aim for K-Electric as an organization, and they were able to prove this through the 2nd edition of these honorable awards. 

The KHI Awards 2, an initiative endorsed by NEPRA and launched in collaboration with #IAmKarachi, were hosted at the Governor House in Karachi with an aim to recognise institutions transforming Karachi into a prosperous city, for their social, environmental, and infrastructural initiatives for Karachi. The categories were exceptionally diverse, and 40 winners were honored to be presented with the awards. 

The 13 award categories included Digital Accessibility and Financial Inclusion, Heritage and Culture, Empowering Women, Livelihoods and Vocational Training, Education, Public Health (Primary Sector), Public Health (Secondary and Tertiary Sector), Safety, Sports, Inclusion, Social Service, Sustainability and Environment and Uplifting Communities. 

The CEO of K-Electric, Moonis Alvi, addressed the crowd during the ceremony by underlining the significance of sustainability initiatives and expressed his gratitude towards the auditors and the jury members for ensuring transparency to honor the contributions of small and large-scale organizations that have been unwaveringly working for the betterment of the city.The chief guest of the event was Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail. He appreciated the KHI Awards and articulated ways in which KHI Awards has emerged as the perfect forum that encourages and celebrates organizations working to transform the city at large. The Governor of Sindh  said that Karachi Awards has emerged as a perfect forum for encouragement for the organizations working to uplift the society at large.

The event was also graced by other key leaders, including Chairman NEPRA Tauseef H. Farooqi, Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Minister of State & Chairman of Board of Investment. He praised the cause and showed solidarity through their notable presence. Also, at the event key addressers lauded numerous K-Electric projects, including Roshni Baji, an initiative by K-Electric for women empowerment that highlights the significance of socio-economic independence for women by training and inducting them in gender bias roles such as meter reader and field technician. 

K-Electric has been working towards notable causes for the city of Karachi for an appreciably long period, including working on meaningful causes for public health, women empowerment, promoting heritage and culture, and numerous others, in alignment with NEPRA’s vision of “Power with Prosperity”. KHI Awards 2 is truly an extension of all the services K-Electric has been dedicatedly trying to provide for the advancement of the city of lights. KHI Awards 2 was undoubtedly the talk of town and was top trending on Twitter over the last weekend.
