Chris Hemsworth provides guided meditation for kids amid pandemic

If you’re looking a real-life superhero during this global crisis, you’re in luck because Chris Hemsworth takes his job seriously on and off-screen!

The Thor star took to Instagram to share an anecdote on how to deal with your feelings during the coronavirus pandemic; specially for kids, who may not understand their feelings of anxiety. As a father of three, Hemsworth has launched a fitness and wellness app for parents to help their kids get through the lockdown.

“If you find yourself in a situation like myself, like a lot of people, where you’re having to home-school your kids and you’re failing miserably—’cause it’s not an easy task, it’s a very, very difficult job, teaching, ” he started, thanking teacher for their contribution before adding how a friend suggested guided exercises to make it better for parents.

“I thought, it’s not gonna work. My kids are allergic to sitting still. But to my surprise, they actually did. And it calmed them down, ’cause kids, you know, have anxiety and stress, all of that, like us, probably more so because they don’t understand it and it’s difficult for us to explain to them,” he shared.

He then dove into explaining how he now wishes to share the experience with other parents, who might benefit from it. “These guided meditations were really beneficial. So what we’re doing with centr.com is I’m gonna narrate a few meditations, children-specific meditations—sleep visualizations, positive thoughts, that kind of thing—and you may get something from it.”

That’s not all – director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi will also be narrating a few exercises. What’s even better: “We have six (free) weeks available for you until April 5. So yeah, get involved happy, safe, lots of love,” said Hemsworth.
