Coldplay has copied Abdullah Qureshi’s video and the singer says it’s okay!

Coldplay is undoubtedly a big name in the global music industry and everything the band doesn’t go unnoticed. The same has happened with Coldplay’s recent music video Daddy which many have found to be too much resembling Abdullah Qureshi’s song Laa Pata’s video.

Showcasing a little girl on the search of her father, Abdullah’s video came out in June 2019 and the English band’s Daddy released a video in November, 2019.

While fans created huge noise on social media for plagiarizing the Pakistani artist’s work, Abdullah is absolutely chilled about it.

“Deep down inside, I feel honoured because I’m a huge, huge fan… So even if they did it on purpose, I’m honoured that they got inspired by my work,” said Abdullah as he spoke to Dawn, Images.

He added that he’s a huge fan of Coldplay himself and listening to their music while growing up and knowing the band, he can say that they are honest people.

“You can tell [a lot] about a musician when you listen to their music so I know they’re very honest human beings,” said the singer.

‘I feel like if it’s anyone’s fault, it’s the production house – named Aardman Animations – that made the video unless it was Coldplay’s own idea,” he further had to say.

In addition to Coldplay being accused of copying Abdullah’s music video, British author Adam Garrie also alleged that Coldplay’s song itself contains elements of Pink Floyd’s 1979 song Mother.
