Coronavirus in Pakistan

The country recorded a positivity ratio above 11% for the third consecutive day.

The number of active coronavirus infections in Pakistan has surpassed 100,000 for the first time since July 1, 2020, when the country registered 7,963 new cases, according to data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday morning. After 70,389 tests were taken in the last 24 hours, 7,963 new cases were recorded. The total number of active cases was 104,095. A positive attitude rating of 11.31 percent was registered across the country. Pakistan has now recorded a positivity rate of more than 11% for the third day in a row.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 caused 27 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 29,219, according to NCOC data.

According to official statistics, the overall number of positive cases has risen to 1.41 million as a result of new cases being discovered.

Total recoveries were 1,276,719, according to the NCOC. 1,375 people, on the other hand, are in critical condition.

The NCOC has extended coronavirus restrictions across the country from January 31 to February 15, as thousands of people continue to get the infection as the Omicron variant spreads.

On January 19, the NCOC imposed non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs), which were to be evaluated on January 27 in light of the country’s COVID-19 condition.

The wedding industry has already been subjected to restrictions until February 15th.
