All PSL franchises have affirmed their commitment to playing all PSL matches in Pakistan, with Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi being considered as venues for the 34 games.
The UAE still remains a back-up venue. The PCB chairman met franchise owners on Monday and discussed the plan for the tournament. In arguably the most significant step towards the PSL returning in full to Pakistan, the owners of the franchises in conjunction with the PCB reaffirmed their commitment to playing the fifth edition of the tournament in the country.
The complete breakdown of matches being hosted by each city is as follows:
Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore 13 Matches
National Stadium, Karachi 9 Matches
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium 8 Matches
Multan Cricket Stadium 4 Matches
The opening ceremony of PSL 2020 will be held in Karachi whereas the final of PSL 5 will be played at Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore. Lahore is also going to host the playoff games for the 5th edition of the PSL.
The next edition of the PSL is expected to start from 20th February and further details regarding the event will be discussed in the next meeting, the date of which is yet to be finalized.
