Wherever we go be it a stadium or just another community street we see people playing cricket and when there is a cricket series going on everyone is glued to the tv. If we talk about an India Pakistan match everything ceases and we as a nation tend to get very emotional.
Having said that we never see people playing hockey just for fun. Although its our “Nation Sport” yes you heard it right our national game is hockey not cricket.
Pakistan has a very good international Hockey team. We are a member of the International Hockey Federation, Pakistan participates in all major tournament of international hockey. We are proud of our talented hockey team, Pakistan has a Men’s and Women’s Hockey team. The Pakistan women’s national field hockey team represents Pakistan in international field hockey competitions, and is governed by the Pakistan Hockey Federation. The first women’s national championships were held in Lahore in 1976.
