Dorian slams Grand Bahama Island, parts of Florida evacuated.

Dorian became the strongest storm in the records to hit the northwestern Bahamas. It is expected to evacuate the islands with up to two days of torrential rains, high waves, and damaging winds.

Category 4 hurricane Dorian pummeled the Bahamas on Sunday night and Monday morning causing massive destruction. There is no water and electricity in the affected areas, many trees have been uprooted and numerous roads are blocked.

However, on Sept. 1 the storm was declared of category 5, which means Dorian is in full fury. There’s not much difference between categories 4 and 5. In cat. 5 walls and roofs of the houses collapse, fallen trees and electric poles isolate residential areas and power outages last for even months.

National Hurricane Center has classified Dorian as an “extremely dangerous” hurricane. It has also updated that now the center has extended its storm to the northward along the east coast of Florida and up to Georgia coast to the Savannah River.

This is comparatively a more alarming situation as more areas could face life-threatening flooding from rising water approaching them. Serious warnings have been issued and coastal Georgia and Carolinas are also on the threat as the storm picks up speed and heads north.
