Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex paid a visit to Mayhew, an animal welfare charity that improves the lives of dogs, cats and people in their communities, on Wednesday afternoon.
Meghan chose a neutral outfit for the engagement in north London, proving the sartorial power of one-tone dressing. She wore a mix of high-street and designer pieces and paired her knit dress from H&M’s maternity range Mama with an Armani coat, royal correspondent Rebecca English reported. The duchess completed her daytime look with slingback stilettos and a Stella McCartney handbag.
The visit to Mayhew is Meghan’s first in her new role as patron of the organisation. She met with staff, volunteers and beneficiaries to hear more about the charity’s various initiatives, from community engagement to international projects. There was also an opportunity to cuddle some of the adorable pets that were waiting to meet their royal visitor and according to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, the charity’s CEO Caroline Yates said she was “quite taken” with a Jack Russell called Mini.
