The streets of Pakistan turned festive as devotees celebrated Eid Miladun Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), on Tuesday with religious zeal and fervor.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had urged the nation to celebrate the day in “unprecedented” ways and the excitement was evident in the many processions in all major cities in the country, in which participants waved green flags and chanted slogans to commemorate your devotion to the prophet.
Government buildings, streets, houses, shopping malls, and mosques were beautifully adorned with lights and banners, while youth and children set off fireworks and marched in rallies in brightly colored clothing.
Despite the government-issued Standard Operating Instructions (SOPs) for Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations, the instructions on social distancing and wearing masks were hardly observed.
