Fed-up of dry skin!

Dry skin is a gift of winters, it is surely an uncomfortable condition marked by scaling, itching, and cracking. It can occur for a variety of reasons. You might have naturally dry skin, on the contrary even if your skin tends to be oily, you can develop dry skin from time to time.

The general cause of itchy, dry skin might be lack of moisture. But where does that lack of moisture come from? “Dry skin is caused by an impaired skin barrier and dysfunction or deficiency in the necessary healthy fats in the top layer of the skin. Sometimes the dryness will be severe and may indicate an underlying skin issue or health condition if the dryness is so severe that it interferes with your ability to work or sleep, if the skin becomes cracked or bleeds, or if it doesn’t seem to be responding to prescription treatment.

Several home remedies, such as decreasing bathing frequency and lubricating the skin with moisturizers after showers, can help control and prevent dry skin. Simple lifestyle changes can help prevent and relieve dry skin, avoid using hot water to bathe, shower every other day instead of every day, use a moisturizing soap when you bathe or shower make sure to apply moisturizer immediately after bathing or showering. Use a humidifier in your home and drink plenty of water.
