Indian comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has come out in support of former Indian cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu following his removal from The Kapil Sharma Show and said it was not right to remove him.
Earlier this week, Sidhu was reportedly replaced on The Kapil Sharma Show, following his comments on the Pulwama attack last week.
Condemning the attack that killed at least 44 Indian soldiers, the politician had said “terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion)”, he had added that one could not blame an entire nation for such attacks. He also called for a “dialogue to find a permanent solution to end the bloodshed.”
Speaking at an event in Chandigarh, Sharma said there was a need to find a solution to the issue of terrorism so that attacks like Pulwama don’t happen but such kind of propaganda (to remove Sidhu) is not right.
“Because of some prior commitments of Sidhu, currently Archana is shooting with us,” DNA quoted him as saying.
He added, “All this is propaganda, I believe banning people, sending Sidhu out of the show is not the right solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.”
