Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will undergo treatment at Sharif Medical City Hospital tomorrow

Ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will undergo treatment at Sharif Medical City Hospital in Jati Umra tomorrow (Thursday), his personal physician Dr Mohammad Adnan Khan says.

He was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail on Tuesday after the Supreme Court granted him bail for six weeks to obtain medical treatment in the country.

His release from the Lahore jail was secured against a surety bond of Rs5 million. However, Nawaz Sharif is not allowed to go abroad.

The PML-N supremo reached his home in Jati Umra late Tuesday night to a warm welcome by his family members, including his mother, daughter Maryam, and brother Shehbaz Sharif.

Now, according to his personal doctor Dr Adnan, the former prime minister will be shifted to the Sharif Medical City Complex for treatment.

The PML-N supremo was sentenced to seven years in prison and was fined Rs 1.5 billion and $25 million in the Al-Azizia corruption reference by an accountability court on December 24, 2018. However, he was acquitted in another reference related to Flagship Investments. Besides, he was also disqualified from holding any public office for the period of 10 years.

Five medical boards had been formed to examine his health, and all boards recommended shifting him to a hospital for treatment. Nawaz Sharif is suffering from cardiac and kidney pain.
