GARDENING

Gardening used to be a hobby that most of us preferred as kids but sadly, none of us find the time to do it now. Gardening is not just about planting trees and flowers in your gardens or yards but it can serve as a therapy; providing peace and calm to your mind. It brings you closer to nature.

I still remember spending my days in the front yard of my house either watering the plants or plainly playing around barefoot on the grass. Those were the days. The carefree spirit and the nature contact made me a jolly person. When the gardener was not around, along with my sister I used to take the water pipe and pretend it was raining while dancing with the flowers and it made me so happy. We used to go get flower seeds from the market with our father and plant them in the garden with our plastic gardening tools. Seeing them grow always got us all excited. The process indulged us every time, watering the seeds and soil every day, waiting for the plant to pop out from the seed, watching the plant grow, flower buds popping on those stems, the growing leaves, everything from the beginning to the end excited us. It somehow made us more patient and tolerant towards growth.

Being close to the nature always helps a person to figure out themselves as well. The process involved in gardening not only helps us become patient and tolerant but it also soothes our minds and brings us peace. We should always find some time from our busy schedules to get closer to nature for the peace of our mind.

“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.” -Vincent Van Gogh
