In line with Google’s plan to bring back some of its most interactive doodles from the past to help people fight lockdown blues, the tech-giant relaunched its 2017 doodle on cricket that keeps users busy during quarantine.
The playable doodle was launched to celebrate the ICC Champions Trophy and lets the user be the batsman as a snail bowls. Today’s doodle has the ‘G’ from Google donning a chef’s hat and holding a rolling pin like a bat while the letter ‘E’ is holding a ball.

In addition, if the mouse hovers over the doodle, a message says: “Stay and play at home with popular past Google Doodles: Cricket (2017).”
Announcing the relaunch of interactive google doodle games, the company’s official doodle page said: “As COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the world, people and families everywhere are spending more time at home. In light of this, we’re launching a throwback Doodle series looking back at some of our popular interactive Google Doodle games!”
Previously, Google had also launched a doodle series to acknowledge the selfless efforts of helpers, including public health workers, emergency services workers, custodial and sanitation workers, farmers and grocery workers, around the world.
These workers have stepped forward to play their part while battling out the contagion that has claimed over thousands of lives globally.
“As COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the world, people are coming together to help one another now more than ever. We’re launching a Doodle series to recognise and honor many of those on the front lines,” read the company’s website.
