Here’s how Sonam Kapoor Ahuja showed us we can experiment with the sari.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is a risk taker and she loves to experiment with her sari’s.

  1. Style it with a retro-inspired blouse.

She is one of those who can mix and match with the prints and silhouettes and has the potential to pull it off. She wore an organza sari with very beautiful floral embroidery from MasabaxRhea’s collection and absolutely looked stunning. The tie up detail to her bell sleeves all made a great impression. Her winged eyeliner and hairdo made a huge difference.

  1. Don’t be afraid to play with your drapes.

For a wedding reception, she wore a sari from Good Earth’s first ever couture collection. She made her ivory sari dotted with gota patti details and gold border and wore antique accessories. She even had her saree’s drape over one shoulder and back over the other hand so that the detailing of the pallu could be seen.

  1. Double up on the print.

Sonam dint shy away away from wearing a print on print sari. She picked a high neck blouse which was hand-blocked and had difficult patterns to pull off. Her handloom featured a red tribal motif in a checkered pattern which was exactly like her blouse. The star totally dazzled and made this a fashion statement for millions.

  1. Find a traditional jacket.

Whenever Sonam Ahuja has doubts, she turns to Anamika Khanna. She has overtime worn traditional jackets with kurta’s as well as saris and has been a big hit for her. Fans follows it religiously. She layered up a jacket over a white sari that had very delicate resham embroidery on it with floral and paisley motifs. Her jacket had mirror work and thread work on it with pom poms. If you have any winter weddings or festive parties you can always take inspiration from her.

  1. Wear with a blouse that has the most unexpected sleeves.

When Sonam had her screening for “Ek larki ko dekha tou aisa laga” she picked a buttery yellow custom Masaba sari which had lines on it of Tamil language script running on it. What stood out even more was the way she paired the drape with an organza corset blouse in the same print, it had sheer off-shoulder balloon sleeves which added a modern touch to the look.
