Hollywood comes to a halt!

Hollywood is one of the biggest industries in the whole world, with the box office revenue hitting a record $42.5 billion in 2019. Unfortunately even an industry of that stature could not survive the impact that covid-19 has had on the world.

Massive brands such as the Mission Impossible franchise was also forced to stop filming in January 2021 due to the increasing number of covid-19 cases. Films such as James Bond’s No Time to Die, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mulan have either postponed or canceled their China release altogether. Filming of the Batman had to be stopped for the second time as lead actor Robert Pattinson contracted the Coronavirus. Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Red Notice, had to pause production and send casts and crews home as The Rock also succumbed to the virus.

The outbreak could result in more than $1 billion of lost revenue for the film industry, according to a February report from Business Insider. Many Music events have also been cancelled and TV shows that were previously filming without audience’s, have been forced to shutdown all due to the massive spread of the virus. The industry has started to return to semi normal procedures as the safety regulations have become more lenient but the effects of Covid-19 are still unavoidable.
