How important is women in men’s life?

This is a fascinating question that many of us struggle to fit into our lives. Important is the keyword here. You ever heard about the concept called Yin-Yang in Chinese philosophy. It shows how two opposite or contrary forces are interconnected together to form a complementary existence. It means to maintain stability in the world, every force needs an opposite force. Individually, separated their existence is worthless, but together on the whole they give a greater meaning. Men and women are like this symbol of Yin-Yang. One cannot exists without other(for instance shadow cannot exist without light).

So, when people ask me how important a woman is in a man’s life, the first word that comes to me is crucial. Claiming that a woman is necessary for a man’s survival is like saying that a coin has two sides. A woman has the power to change a man’s life for the better or for the worst. It all relies on how the species’ individual male is programmed. Let’s begin with the positive ones. To begin with, only a woman is capable of giving birth to a kid. There is no doubt about that. Science has progressed in leaps and bounds over time, yet it has yet to overcome this particular barrier.

Lets start with the good ones. Firstly only a woman can give birth to a child. There is no dispute over that. Science has evolved by bounds and leaps over the course of time but it has not crossed this particular hurdle. Be it the concept of artificial insemination or test tube babies, the body of a woman is needed for the birth of a child. So a man can come into life only through a woman.

Now the man has to live his life. For this too he needs the help of the women in his life. The women in question can be his mother, his sister, his better half, a colleague or even female friends. All of these females will have an impact on this man emotionally and in some way or another play a role in shaping his personality. The impact they have might be through their words their actions or even through their ideas.

The saying that behind every successful man there is a woman comes to mind here. Every man who has scaled the walls of success has had a woman helping him from behind the scenes. From time immemorial the examples to underline this statement are numerous. From Mileva Maric who was the solid pillar to her husband Albert Einstein to Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States of America who was Barack Obama’s strength, the examples stretch far and wide.

Now can a woman bring a man down? Oh yes she can. Not literally, but that’s just a phrase. The saying that has to be used here is hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. One of the greatest battles in Indian history, The Mahabharata, is one heck of an example for how one woman brought down an entire nation that humiliated her, but its not just a scorned woman that brings a man down. The Trojan war is a fine example for this. It portrays how the young Trojan prince Paris brought destruction to his entire kingdom of Troy by going behind Queen Helen.

So it is an unalterable fact that every man has his life impacted by some woman or another which makes woman one of the most important part in a man’s life.

To show man the other side of nature.. Nature has coded men and women differently to fulfill distinct and somewhat mutually exclusive responsibilities – Man being the provider and Woman being the nurturer (might seem like stereotyping but think for a while about the rudimentary male/female characteristics). For instance that is why men tend to be physically more powerful while women are mentally stronger.

A woman in a man’s life fulfills that inadequacy that nature has bestowed upon him and vice versa. Although societal definitions of male and female boundaries are fast getting obliterated, the natural boundaries cannot be voided except with the use of (violent) technological help that goes against the grain of nature.
