How to celebrate 14th August in this Pandemic!

This year marks the 73rd anniversary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Every year this day is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Even though Corona Virus cases are declining and the majority of the citizens have recovered but the pandemic is not over yet! Therefore, this year the celebrations would be slightly different from how we celebrate each year.

Are you thinking about how to celebrate 14th August and the long weekend? We have a couple of ideas which will help you enjoy this day with minimum risk.

    • Purchase a huge flag to put up on the balcony/rooftop. Put up a banner in your living with some green and white balloons to help you get that vibe

    • Take out a white shirt/kurta from your wardrobe and pair it up with a green stole or vice versa for some independence day family picture

    • If you have kids at home you can celebrate by baking cupcakes with green frosting

    • Go for a family tour to visit museums and monuments

    • Have a movie night screening patriotic movies and dramas

While celebrating and going out with families it is important that we follow the same precautions exercised previously to minimize the risk of COVID-19.

  • Wash your hands often and use a sanitizer if you are not at home.
  • Always wear a mask when you leave the house and also when meeting with friends or family.
  • Try to meet in open spaces, such as gardens or open restaurants.
  • Meet friends and family in batches to avoid large gatherings!
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects people frequently touch.
  • Try to avoid fireworks or exercise caution when handling.

Stay Safe and Enjoy the weekend!
