Karachi (January 13, 2021) Hussain Lakhani Trust and Hospital have organized a free medical camp in Landhi Jail. Medical examination of prisoners suffering from various diseases and free medicines were also provided.
Chairman Bait-ul-Mal Sindh Hunaid Lakhani visited Free Medical Camp. Jail Superintendent Malik Mohammad Aslam and Raheel Lakhani were also present. Prisoners are provided with the best facilities by the administration while fully respecting human rights. “Prisoners are being taught various jobs like sewing, carpentry, fine arts, mechanics and we hope that these people will play an important role in social development like responsible citizens after leaving jail,” he said. The medical camp aims to provide free medical care to prisoners who have been affected by climate change because whenever the weather changes, people are affected by seasonal diseases. Today, we have hundreds of prisoners here. Appreciating the jail superintendent Malik Mohammad Aslam and the entire jail police on the occasion of the visit, he said that the inmates here have full human rights. At present, the second wave of coronavirus is spreading all over the world. Pakistan also needs to be very careful to stop its spread, and before bringing new inmates to the jail, they must be tested for coronavirus in government hospitals. “If a prisoner is diagnosed with the coronavirus, he or she should be quarantined and other prisoners should be protected from the epidemic,” he said, adding that he would work with the administration to provide as many human rights facilities as possible. He will help supply water and install RO plants for the supply of drinking water. He further said that another free medical camp will be set up in which ultrasound, ECG for heart patients, and other facilities will also be arranged. As far as possible, their medical facilities will be provided inside the jail. Later, Hunaid Lakhani, along with Raheel Lakhani, also visited Landhi Bacha Jail.
