ICJ verdict on kulbhushan Jadhav is out and Indians are celebrating for no reason!

Yesterday ICJ announced its verdict on Kulbhushan Jadhav case, which was going on for a while now. Both the countries claimed victory but in reality, the court has granted consular access to India but denied the release of Jadhav.

ICJ has also extended stay on the execution of Jadhav; pending a legal review of the conviction based on the ruling that Jadhav has the right to have consular access was denied.

President of ICJ Judge Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf said; “Pakistan has breached Vienna Convention law by not providing India to have consular access to Jadhav and arrange for his legal representation. However, India has claimed victory when there is no verdict on release of Jadhav and Pakistan holds the custody of Jadhav.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said; “It is a victory for our nation and Islamabad will not be releasing Jadhav.”

Indian foreign minister tweeted: “I wholeheartedly welcome the verdict of International Court of Justice in the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav. It is a great victory for India.” Other ministers tweeted with regards to ICJ verdict, appraising their prosecutor Harish Salve.

Imran khan in a tweet said: “Appreciate ICJ’s decision not to acquit, release & return Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav to India. He is guilty of crimes against the people of Pakistan. Pakistan shall proceed further as per law.”
